Carmen Weiskopf

Carmen Weiskopf was born and raised in the picturesque community of Astorville, Ontario. Inspired by a creative and artistic family, particularly painters, Carmen chose to express her intrinsic talent through photography. After receiving her first camera from her parents, Carmen has further developed her photography skills by following several classes from Canadore College in North Bay and from the Schools of Arts in Haliburton.

While she studies many subjects, Carmen is particularly drawn to the natural beauty of Northern Ontario as well as to the treasures she finds during her travels. Carmen expresses herself in both black & white and in coloured prints. Her favourite pieces are those that have a soft nuance, motion or double exposure. To Carmen, photography is an art that requires skill, patience and passion. As stated by Ansel Adams "you don't take a photograph, you make it."

Her work may now be obtained through King's Framing and Art Gallery of Corbeil, Ontario [telephone 705-752-4211; website: www.kingsframingandartgallery.com] where she is currently a member of "The Consolidated Group of 7's".
