Gayle Broadworth

Art Biography of Gayle Broadworth

Gayle grew up on a farm near Smithfield, Ontario, in the Quinte region of southern Ontario. As the youngest of three children she loved to read and draw, spending many hours happily engrossed in these pursuits.

After attending Teachers' College in Peterborough she married a minister and had 2 children but her life changed significantly when her 12-year old son was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. God began to lead her through a place of deep emotional and spiritual healing where she became a woman of prayer and contemplation.

Through the years she tried ceramics, quilting and drawing. In her ventures Gayle established "Hello Dolly", a one-of-a-kind doll making business. She became a juried member of the North Bay Arts and Craft Festival held at the Memorial Gardens each year. Her quilting endeavors brought healing and creative flow into her life. And in the fall of 2009 she has embarked upon a career of drawing and painting.

Colossians 3:17 states, "Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father." That is her desire in the days ahead.

One can now enjoy Gayle's work by contacting King's Framing and Art Gallery of Corbeil, Ontario [telephone 705-752-4211; website: www.kingsframingandartgallery.com] where she is currently a member of "The Consolidated Group of 7's".
