Colourful Lies by Jo Ranocchia

 Colourful Lies by Jo Ranocchia

This piece I named Colourful Lies after I had spent many hours staring at this beautiful, sad, colourful face. As I was working, her story was revealing itself in my own feelings and life experiences. Her face, at first glance, is full of beautiful colours that attract your eye and belies the emotion she is expressing. I couldn't help thinking about how she looks like she is hiding her true self behind the bright paint that initially gives you the impression of happiness, however, she is struggling with feelings of inadequacy. It's often a feeling I have when I am looking through social media, all the posts from people that look like they have it all. Life is perfect for them while I am quietly struggling...but of course it is all just colourful lies. Everybody has their own struggles, challenges and times of sadness like me. So, as I completed this painting, I felt that it was telling my story and I feel a deep connection with her. Want to get featured yourself on our website and get exiting prizes ?
