Since 1264 Fabriano has been synonymous with high quality paper, esteemed throughout the world and known to publishers, writers and artists. The importance of paper and its diffusion reaches its peak during the Renaissance. At that time, many artists, among them Michelangelo, used paper produced by the paper mills of Fabriano and a number of testimonies witness the progressive success of Fabriano’s artisanal workshops both in Italian cities and abroad.
Fabriano Artistico Extra White delivers the purest bright white available without the use of optical brighteners or bleaches. Each sheet of Fabriano Artistico is mould made, with two deckled edges, from 100% cotton and is naturally bright white in colour and Acid-Free. This fine art paper is both externally and internally sized which means that each sheet, inside and out, has a consistent texture and absorbency. The sizing remains odor free when the paper is wet and is durable enough to handle the toughest scrubbing and scraping.
