Traditional Raw Sienna types of colours abound in the natural world, and often this colour is used with only minor modification. Mixed with Cadmium Yellow Medium it makes the golden colours of wheat fields or mixed with Emerald, makes beautiful olive greens while combining it with Magenta light creates an astonishing combination. The warm light tans that the mixture makes is quite unlike any other because of the pinkish component to the colour. It has been the standard mixture for skin tone in portrait painting.
