Description: Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolour Burgundy Yellow Ochre 15ml
This natural ochre is a warm, glowing earth colour that is surprisingly smooth in washes. In a light wash, the yellow is very clean, sunny, and subtle, much like morning light in a French vineyard. It was mined from a deep vein near the Loire River in western Burgundy. Since the mines closed in 1970, we feel lucky to have found a supply of this unique pigment. DANIEL SMITH is truly the worldwide leader in watercolours for artists. Its watercolours contain the most beautiful colours of any manufacturer. Many traditional colours are relied upon by all artists, and many “truly unique” colours made only by DANIEL SMITH have become essential to watercolour artists. PrimaTek Watercolours are made from minerals, often semi-precious minerals, that have been ground into pigments, mixed with gum arabic (the binder), and milled into PrimaTek Watercolours. The first was Lapis Lazuli Genuine in 1998; since then, many more have been added, including colours such as Amethyst Genuine, Piemontite Genuine, and Serpentine Genuine. Most of these colours have excellent granulating effects that some artists have called “magical.” Luminescent Watercolours have special optical effects that are perfect for subjects possessing a sparkle, sheen, or reflective glow, such as the iridescence of hummingbird feathers or the sheen of metals. Cadmium Hues. DANIEL SMITH has developed safe and vibrant Cadmium Hues with the density and richness of cadmium colours without using cadmium pigment. Virtually identical in colour to their namesakes, they are cleaner in mixtures and much more robust in tints. The working properties—staining power, semi-transparency, and excellent lightfastness—are nearly identical to those of the low-soluble cadmium colours previously manufactured by DANIEL SMITH. Other unique watercolours created from pigments that
DANIEL SMITH has sourced, often from particular locations, such as France,
include Burgundy, Yellow Ochre, Monte Amiata Natural Sienna, and Roasted French
Ochre. Some are created exclusively by DANIEL SMITH, such as Cascade Green,
Deep Sap Green, and Green Gold. DANIEL SMITH also finds unusual pigments to create colours like Anthraquinoid Scarlet, Lunar Blue, and Eco-Friendly Red Iron Oxide, providing artists with more choices.Burgundy Yellow Ochre PY43 Ocre Jaune de Bourgogne
