Italian Venetian Red (PR101) Rouge Vénitien
Made from pigment mined and mixed in Italy, Italian Venetian Red is redder than most and smoulders with a warm intensity. It is an earthy red-brown with opaque, sedimentary properties, which makes it excellent for fall paintings and applications similar to Indian Red.
Drop Venetian Red into wet Lunar Earth washes for exciting results. Venetian Red is non-staining and lifts with difficulty when dry, but it leaves a unique, warm afterglow when blotted in a damp state.

Luminescent watercolours have special optical effects perfect for subjects with a sparkle, sheen, or reflective glow, such as the iridescence of hummingbird feathers or the sheen of metals.
Cadmium Hues, DANIEL SMITH has developed safe and vibrant Cadmium Hues with the density and richness of cadmium colours without the cadmium pigment. Virtually identical in colour to their namesakes, they are cleaner in mixtures and much more robust in tints. The functional properties—staining power, semi-transparency, and excellent lightfastness—are nearly identical to those of the low-soluble cadmium colours that DANIEL SMITH previously manufactured.
