Mars Yellow (PY42) Jaune de Mars
To avoid instant mud in your watercolours, select lightfast Mars Yellow. This semi-transparent brownish yellow is low-staining and an ideal substitute for more transparent, higher staining pigments such as New Gamboge or Yellow Ochre.
A wash of Mars Yellow adds gentle granulation to passages. Colour-coordinate paintings using Mars Yellow with Violet for subtle, muted, warm grays.
