Phthalo Green Yellow Shade is bottle green. In concentrated to diluted states, it is transparent and super-staining. Organic and lightfast, most artists find this colour indispensable. The slightly bluish Phthalo Green BS can be readily modified with yellows and reds. Phthalo Green YS is a warmer essential green. Each creates luminous, effective darks or clean glazes.

You can add water to the shavings and turn them into liquid paint in a small dish or container.

With DANIEL SMITH Watercolour Sticks, you can:

• Draw directly onto dry or wet paper for different line characteristics.
• Soften your lines with a wet brush.
• Blend colours with your wet brush, both on the paper and the Stick.
• Draw onto paper. Then, with a wet brush, take up the Watercolour Stick pigment and paint from it as you would paint from a pan.
• Add water to create light washes using your brush.
• Using the Watercolour Sticks for rich, saturated colours, you can build up layers.
