Quinacridone Sienna is the ultimate low-staining glazing pigment, finer than any Burnt Sienna. For the traditional and purist watercolour painter, it separates yellows from reds, falling on the orange line. Its place on the colour chart makes Quinacridone Sienna a complement-free pigment that is easy to modify without revealing a hidden grey. Quinacridone Sienna works exceptionally well in damp underpaintings overpainted with rich pigments such as Indigo or Payne's Grey. The fine, clear Quinacridone particles collect and retreat, giving way to compressed pools surrounded by premixed greys. Highly durable and extremely transparent, all the DANIEL SMITH Quinacridone colours excel in vivid clarity and intensity.

You can add water to the shavings and turn them into liquid paint in a small dish or container.
With DANIEL SMITH Watercolour Sticks, you can:
- Draw directly onto dry or wet paper for different line characteristics.
- Soften your lines with a wet brush.
- Blend colours with your wet brush, both on the paper and with the watercolour stick.
- Draw onto paper; then, with a wet brush, pick up watercolour stick pigment and paint from that as you would with paint in a pan.
- Add water to create light washes using your brush.
- You can build up layers with the watercolour sticks for rich, saturated colours.
