In watercolour, the inky colour of this semi-precious stone granulates as it dries, layering a blue-black textural surface over a smooth blue-grey undertone. Low-staining, lightfast, and semi-transparent Sodalite creates a three-dimensional quality as it dries.

They are comfortable to hold, and the tip can be sharpened for a more precise drawing experience. When sharpening, be sure to save the shavings; these are pure DANIEL SMITH Watercolour! You can add water to the shavings and turn them into liquid paint in a small dish or container.

With DANIEL SMITH Watercolour Sticks, you can:
  • Draw directly onto dry or wet paper for different line characteristics.
  • Soften your lines with a wet brush.
  • Blend colours with your wet brush, both on the paper and the stick.
  • Draw onto paper. Then, using a wet brush, pick up the watercolour stick pigment and paint with it as you would paint in a pan.
  • Add water to create light washes with your brush.
