This is a replacement copper wire brush wax painting tip for the Encaustic Art Stylus low heat painting tool. Fit into the Stylus and tighten the retaining screw. Ideal for all drawn lines, graphic work, careful blending and shading, etc. Note: if this tip is too sharp use a fine abrasive / sand paper to perfectly smooth the tip to suit your style and action of drawing.

The copper brush tip is a collection of crimped copper wires that behaves like a brush or marker pen. These are straight fibers and preferred by some encaustic painters to the braided wire brush tip. It is great for painting and covering areas with molten wax colour. Bunches of the wires can easily be bent aside to create much thinner and finer brush forms. To avoid crumpling the fine wires too much try resting the heel of the metal stem against the wax so that the melting wax floods down onto the fibers. The copper fibers will bend during use, so with a tissue pad just gently bend them back into the form you want.
