Encaustic Hot Wax Art Sealer Or Acrylic Paint Base 150ml Plastic Bottle

The result is a soft and evenly spread sealer coating– a more economical method.

Use it to protect Encaustic Wax Art and other Mixed Media or to create acrylic paint.

Art Sealer will keep wax and paint colours looking fresh and bright, protecting the delicate art surface.

As well as use as a sealer, you can mix the sealer with acrylic colours or dry pigment and then use it as a regular acrylic paint or glazing effect.

Apply sealer to carefully polished wax art – Dabbing the sealer with a cloth pad will give a much more refined result than brushing on. Make a ball of cloth in your hand or use a piece of fabric (like old tee shirt material) with some padding inside – tissues or more cloth. Then, put sealer onto the pad (just a bit) and roughly spread this all over your polished wax artwork. Then dab the ball/pad of cloth on and off like soft bouncing so that all parts have been ‘bounced on’!

Directions: Use a soft, flat watercolour brush to carefully apply the sealer to the polished art. Coat the surface with a heat sealer, then make the final brush strokes in one direction. The wax must be polished to enable an even spread and optimal adhesion when using wax art. Dries to a satin wax-like finish in 2 hours or less. Clean brushes thoroughly in warm water after use.

* Recommended for Greetings Cards but not advisable for fine art as it is acrylic and makes later change or addition to the encaustic wax artwork difficult.
