Encaustic Nara Hake Brush 3 inch

4.4331 Reviews  Write A Review  Ask Question

Soft hake brushes make very expressive strokes when used with encaustic paint. Quickly lay down broad, smooth strokes or use them to build up textures and layers. These brushes are made from goat and sheep hair with nice, sturdy wood paddle handles.

The soft hake makes this brush ideal for cutting in close lines, and the broad end is great for laying down colour. The bristles' thickness is perfect for hot wax paint, and they heat quickly to work the colour effectively.

Hake brushes feature soft bristles for smooth strokes and washes. Each brush is made of soft goat hair, which won't scorch or melt. The hake brushes are ideal for creating smooth, even washes of colour.

These brushes require different handling to protect natural hair from intense heat. Natural hair will singe if the heat source is too close. This brush will rapidly apply large, bold, textured strokes of wax colour with the proper technique.

Hake brushes are a traditional Asian brush style with very soft, dense bristles. They have large, flat wooden handles and are available in various sizes. The size of each brush model refers to the width of the brush head.

HOT TOOL CARE MAINTENANCE

Always remove the Hot Tool attachments by gently grasping them by the ferrule to unscrew them from the wax pen. Attachments should be removed while still hot because residual wax will remain soft and pliable. Use paper towels or a soft cloth to protect your fingers from getting burned. Never grasp the tip of the Hot Tool attachment (the pen point or brush bristles) to remove or unscrew it.

Never force attachments onto the wax pen. The Hot Tool attachments will still get hot even if they are loosely screwed onto the wax pen. Forcing the attachments on or screwing them on too tightly will cause damage.

Use Slick Wax and a soft cloth or paper towel to clean your hot tool attachments.

Carefully screw the Hot Tool attachments onto the wax pen, as forcing the tips on may result in cross-threading the tools.

To protect the bristles of the Hot Brush attachments when not in use, coat the tips with melted Slick Wax and let them cool.
