An excellent all-in-one starter kit. Everything you need except for a heat source to begin encaustic painting. R7F Encaustic paint comprises 100-percent pure pharmaceutical-grade beeswax, Singapore-grade damar resin and pigments. Beeswax is impervious to moisture, making encaustic paint extremely durable. You don't need to make any changes to your painting with glass. It will not deteriorate, yellow or darken.

Encaustic paint is kept molten on a heated palette. It is then applied to an absorbent surface and fused to create various effects. Encaustic goes from a liquid to a solid state and back again in seconds, allowing you to add layers without disrupting your composition. Once the surface has cooled, the paint has reached a permanent finish, but with heat, you can revise and rework your painting minutes or years later. This highly versatile medium can be polished to a high gloss, carved, scraped, layered, collaged, dipped, cast, modelled, sculpted, textured and combined with oil.

Kit includes an R&F Basic Encaustic Manual and colour chart, two 1-inch hake brushes, two palette cups, soy wax for clean-up and two flat 5-inch by 7-inch Ampersand Encausticbord. It also contains five vibrant 40-ml encaustic colours: Titanium White, Indian Yellow, Quinacridone Red, Ultramarine Blue and Chromium Oxide Green. This starter kit comes packaged in an 8-inch by 10-inch Encausticbord.
