EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED IN A WATERCOLOUR PAPER

Winsor andamp; Newton Professional Watercolour Blocks contain the finest and best-performing watercolour papers, made from 100% cotton. All four sides are gummed in place, removing the need to wet and tape sheets down when painting outdoors.

Gummed blocks are a collection of pre-stretched watercolour sheets. All four sides are gummed in place, removing the need to wet and tape sheets down when painting outdoors. Each sheet can be removed carefully using a palette knife. Blocks tend to have a heavy board asking, enabling the pad to be used as a drawing board.

This watercolour paper is acid-free. Blocks hold 20 sheets—140 lb (300 gsm).

Winsor andamp; Newton Professional Watercolour Paper, Blocks or Pads

The block’s paper fibres are cotton which is longer, more robust and naturally absorbent, making them ideal for watercolour paper production. This watercolour paper will not warp or cockle even when saturated with large volumes of water. Multiple layers of paint can therefore be applied to create more depth. The Winsor andamp; Newton Professional Blocks may withstand the roughest of editing techniques, and colours remain brilliant and intense, even when dry.

Professional, 100% Cotton, Is An Exceptional Paper That Looks And Feels Handmade!

Cold Pressed - Cold-pressed paper has a less textured finish and is the most widely used paper surface. This paper often produces the brightest watercolour paintings because its increased surface area holds more colour and reflects more light.

Hot Pressed - Hot pressed paper has a very smooth surface. It has almost no ‘tooth,’ an essential consideration for portraiture and soft washes. Illustrators and miniaturists use hot-pressed papers as the smooth paper finish allow for finger detail.

Rough Grain - Rough grain paper has a pronounced, varied texture for achieving watercolours with a free, loose feel. The heavy texture makes it feel closest to handmade paper.
