Art Spectrum Colourfix Plein Air Boards - Fits a standard 16 x 20 inch frame, painting area is 12 x 16 inch. Painting Boards primed with Colourfix Pastel Primer. Whether you use pastels, charcoal, pencils, inks, oils, acrylics, gouache or even watercolour, Art Spectrum paper provides a rigid, toothy, light-fast and acid free surface that enables you to seek and explore new creative boundaries. They are ideal for all mediums, including oil paint (for sketching) The full range of 20 Colourfix colours is offered in "Plein Air Board", produced in a convenient size for easy framing - the printed area is 12 x 16 inches (30 x 40cm) and it will also work well in a 16 x 20-inch (40 x 50cm) frame with a mat. Plein Air Boards are lightweight, versatile and affordable. Importantly, they are also of archival quality, unlike many of the panels and papers commonly used for plein air painting.

Art Spectrum® Colourfix™ Smooth is manufactured by screen printing Colourfix™ Smooth Primer onto European Archival 300gsm Hot Pressed watercolour paper making 340gsm pastel paper.
The Colourfix™ Smooth texture is ideal for pastel artists who are looking for a not so toothy surface. The surface still has enough soft tooth to enable the artist to do multiple layers of pastel. Colourfix™ Smooth is available in 20 colours. Colourfix™ Smooth is a versatile surface that can be used for pastels, oil colours, acrylics, inks, oil pastels, gouache, watercolours and dry media such as charcoal and pencils
It is recommended for the artist seeking a flat, rigid work surface that still meets conservation standards.
Colourfix Paper andamp; Boards
Art Spectrum Colourfix™ Papers and boards are sheets of acid-free hot press watercolour paper screen printed with Art Spectrum Colourfix™ Primer. They offer conservation quality and unbeatable versatility at an affordable price.
Art Spectrum Colourfix™ Paper
Printed on 300gsm hot press watercolour paper and with its 20 dense, lightfast colours and fine deep tooth, Colourfix™ is a superb substrate for acrylics, inks, silverpoint, oil pastels, gouache, watercolours and dry media such as soft pastels, charcoal and pencils. The natural toothy surface will hold multiple layers of pastel without the need for fixative, allowing the velvet bloom and vibrant colour of pastel to be preserved. Erasing is also easy with Colourfix™ - simply lift off excess pastel with clear adhesive tape, brush off with a dampened or dry brush, or use a pencil eraser. Alternatively, errors can be overpainted or areas touched up with the matching colour of Art Spectrum Colourfix™ Primer. The tough, toothy surface can be sanded, scrubbed, soaked and reworked over and over.
