PASTELMAT MOUNTED BOARD is a unique Organic Velvety Surface with a robust and velvety premium surface that offers pastel artists new opportunities with a unique texture that grabs pastels more effectively than Ingres papers but is less abrasive than sanded papers.
PASTELMAT significantly reduces the need for fixative, which means that colours remain vibrant and fresh once applied. It has the bonus of being gentle on both fingers and blending tools. It is acid-free and lightfast.
PASTELMAT is ideal for all dry media - pastel sticks, PanPastel, pencils and charcoal. It is also water resistant, meaning it can be used with wet media – such as acrylics and watercolours, for washes and mixed media techniques.

Pastelmat Mounted Boards offers pastel artists new opportunities with a unique surface that grabs pastels more effectively than Ingres papers but is less abrasive than sanded papers.
Mixed Media Pastelmat is so versatile that, in addition to pastel and pastel pencils, it will support most dry and wet media, including oil pastels, charcoal, coloured pencils, acrylics, watercolours and gouache.
Pastelmat's unique Organic Velvety Surface with a strong, velvety surface has more teeth than traditional Ingres papers but without the abrasive qualities of sanded papers. The texture grabs onto the pastel, breaking up the pigment and pulling it deep into the surface for an exceptionally vibrant colour, creating painterly effects with soft, buttery marks, allowing for effortless, precision blending of pigments and supports building up multiple layers of pigment to control colour tone and intensity.
