Winsor & Newton Cotman Watercolour Brush - 7pc Set

These synthetic filament blend brushes are designed for students and professionals. Durable Cotman brushes feature excellent point and spring. They are considered a soft brush, slightly stiffer than sable. The soft filament is designed with watercolour, offering reasonable flow control and colour carrying capacity.

The set of 7 includes 667 Angular, 111 Round, 888 Fan, 333 Rigger, 666 Flat Wash and 668 Filbert brushes.

• 667 – Angular brush: The point can be used for detailed work or pressed to create a curved or straight wedge. 1/8 inch, 3mm (width at ferrule)
• 111 – Round brush: For fine detail, lines and washes. A traditional and popular head shape for all-purpose watercolour work. It can be used for broad strokes, yet it will also form a sharp point. Size 6, 1
• 888 – Fan brush: To blend and soften edges and create textures. Size 2
• 333 – Rigger brush: An extra-fine point for painting lines, long scroll work and detail. Size 2
• 666 - Flat Wash brush for edges, shapes or applying washes. Possessing great spring and colour carrying capacity: 10mm (width at ferrule)
• 668 – Filbert brush: A flat head with an oval tip creates a broad mark with a soft edge. 1/4 inch, 6mm (width at ferrule)

Watercolour brushes are designed to control the flow of colour. The perfect brush will have a fine point, the ability to hold and evenly control colour and should be able to spring back into shape after every stroke. As Gouache colour has the same properties as watercolour, all our watercolour brushes are interchangeable with Gouache, and the same brush characteristics apply.
