You'll love how pastels and charcoal look when stroked on a soft, velour surface. The colours adhere naturally to the velvety surface, but spray fixative is recommended often. Hahnemühle applies velour generously and consistently to a smooth acid-free paper.

These pads come in 10 sheets of different colours: white, med. Grey, Yellow, Green, Orange, Dark Grey, Sand, Ochre, Light Grey, and Black.

Hahnemühle Premium Pastel Velour Pad
This Premium Velour paper from Hahnemühle is acid free and archival. The velour paper surface is produced using inert synthetic fibres on an acid free baking sheet. It has a Fuzzy Felt surface!
Velour holds pastel well and is very appropriate for soft edge work due to the nature of the longer fibered surface. Velour is very popular with portrait and animal portrait artists. The soft nature of the velour pastel paper is recommended for soft pastels, and if you were going to use a pastel pencil, the softer pencils are recommended for mark making.
It is also possible to use velour paper for oil pastels, willow charcoal, compressed charcoal, soft pencils and Conté crayons.
