Cretacolor Fine Art Pastel Pencils are durable wood-cased with the same pigment used in Cretacolor's Pastel Carré Sticks, a hard pastel, and are inter-mixable. They give the same brilliant colours and high lightfastness.

Incredibly soft, oil-free strokes characterize pastel pencils. Colours are mixable, wipeable, and water-soluble. Fixing is required to make it insoluble or use it to stabilize the coloured layers. Colour-coded tips permit easy identification. Pencils are pre-sharpened.

Cretacolor Fine Art Pastel Pencils' rich pigmentation and high lightfastness guarantee brilliant results. Cretacolor Fine Art Pastel Pencils are available in 72 colours. They are made in Austria.

Fine Art Pastel Pencils are superb for fine detail work, but you can also use them as a standalone medium. Enveloped in a protective case of cedar, 72 luminous colours make for portable pastel perfection.

The leads of these oil-free and un-burnt Pastels correspond with the hard pastels "Pastellcarré" by Cretacolor. The soft and highly pigmented tips give your drawings brilliant effects.

All colours can be mixed, and they can be blended with water. The drawing should be protected with a fixative. The pencils are round and varnished precise, and the end of each pencil is painted in a matching colour.

Cretacolor recommends sharpening pastel pencils with sandpaper. A small sheet of sandpaper for sharpening the pencils is included. Also, short cone sharpeners for chalk pencils or hand-cranked pencil sharpeners (with short point adjustment) are suitable. Where sharpeners with a regular blades are used, they should be replaced regularly.
