Individually wrapped sticks feature a square shape for versatility — use the flat sides or sharp edges!

The size (2-inch L × 5/16-inch Square) makes them easy to hold and less prone to breakage.

A pastel fixative is recommended to prevent colours from fading.

Using a unique manufacturing process, Holbein has developed an exceptional range of water soluble 144 artist quality soft pastels which, while eliminating many infrequently used light colours, offers a greater soft powder richness in covering and blending power than competitive products.

The manufacturing process is entirely computerized and is mechanized from inception to final product. In the final stages of production, the computer lens scans every stick in order to guarantee even distribution of pigment. This ensures a predictably constant hue for use in sketching, undercoating and finished work.

In set form, each stick has its own numbered space for the artist's convenience. Softness, pigment purity, size and shape and method of packaging have been widely acclaimed by working pastelists.
