The square (carré in French) CRETACOLOR pastels have been recognized by artists all over the world for their brilliant colours and high pigmentation.

These unburnt pastel sticks yield a rich colour due to their high pigmentation, and although not individually tested, all colours use lightfast pigments due to their natural pigments, and are therefore long-lasting. Cretacolor Hard Pastels can be blended, smudged or dissolved with water.

They produce a velvety-soft, oil-free stroke and make a perfect companion to the pastel pencils. No matter if you use rough surfaced or smooth paper, each technique has its own appeal. By mixing the Sticks, smudging and dissolving with water, there is no limit to the number of effects that can be achieved.
