These unburnt pastel sticks yield a rich colour due to their high pigmentation, and although not individually tested, all colours use lightfast pigments due to their natural pigments and are, therefore, long-lasting. Cretacolor Hard Pastels can be blended, smudged or dissolved with water.

They produce a velvety-soft, oil-free stroke and make a perfect companion to pastel pencils. Whether you use rough surfaced or smooth paper, each technique has its own appeal. By mixing the Sticks, smudging and dissolving them with water, there is no limit to the number of effects that can be achieved.
