#103 Mapping

103 Mapping: A very flexible extra-fine nib. Specialized for delicate work

The #103 is similar to the #100 in feel and experience but less fragile. Perfect for artists with a light touch.

The Hunt 103 is very similar to the Hunt 100, except for a few small differences. Both nibs have very fine points and are delicate, requiring a light touch for adequate control. However, both nibs are surprisingly resilient for their small size. The 103 is more flexible than the 100 and larger.

Best for tiny writing, drawing fine details, and Spencerian script: Produces healthy swells for an extra-fine nib and performs best on smooth surfaces. This nib is ideal for intermediate or advanced level calligraphers and is not recommended for beginners.

#103 Mapping, #104 Drawing, #512 Bowl-Pointed and #513EF Nibs

#103 Mapping: Specialized for delicate work, the #103 is similar to the #100 in feel and experience but less fragile. Perfect for artists with a light touch.

#104 Drawing: To create very fine hairlines and small details, the #104 possesses a superfine point and is ideal for use with the #104 penholder.

#512 Bowl-Pointed: Fine pen is best for ruling and lettering applications.

#513EF: This extra-fine pen is ideal for industrial arts.

The #103, #512 and #513 nibs may be used with either a straight/classic style or oblique penholder.


Speedball Standard Point Dip Pen Nibs

Three types of pen nib holders are available: standard point, fine point, and crow quill.

Standard pen nibs have a larger, half-round body which only fits a standard pen holder. The standard pen holder is also used for scratch art and linoleum cutters.

  • Standard nibs do not fit in quill or fine point holders.
  • Crow quill pen nibs have a cylindrical holder.
  • Fine point nibs fit in a holder with a smaller, half-round body.
