Nickel Azo Yellow is a transparent, moderately staining yellow pigment with high tinting strength. It is considered a good colour match in botanical and landscape painting for natural gamboge (NY24), a historic yellow pigment with fair to poor lightfastness.

Nickel azo yellow pigment is mildly toxic and often hazardous. Avoid respiratory and skin exposure to pigment dust. It should be appropriately disposed of with other hazardous wastes, not washed down the sink—however, the artist's contribution.

Unrivalled Transparency: The transparency of Professional Watercolour is due to the way the pigment is dispersed during manufacture. In thin washes, the colour is present, but the reflective white of the paper can still be seen. Permanence: 93 out of 96 colours in our Professional Watercolour range are classed as "permanent for artists' use,” rated AA or A for permanence to ensure that the colours used today will appear the same for generations to come.
