This DVD is 53 minutes and filled with valuable, well-demonstrated information about safer printmaking methods for the beginning or advanced printmaker. Susan Rostow and William Jung take viewers through the steps for creating reductive, additive, and viscosity monotypes with and without a press, using Akua water-based inks.

Also featured are Tung Hoang, who shows how to print a simple one-colour intaglio plate; David Jay Reed, who prints a four-colour photo-intaglio image; and April Vollmer, who offers her expertise in creating traditional Japanese woodblock prints. Demonstrations on colour mixing, modifiers, and unique monotype drawing tools are also featured.

The DVD also includes a slideshow print gallery of more than 60 prints by more than 40 artists. There are 14 pages of print-friendly text instructions for printmakers, teachers, and students. Links to safer printmaking resources and workshops are also provided.
