Gamblin 1980 Oil Colors contain pure pigments, the finest
refined linseed oil, and marble dust (calcium carbonate). Since oil painting began, these three ingredients have made more
affordable colours. Some manufacturers use gels and waxes to stiffen oils and
replace traditional pigments with less expensive ones to reduce the cost of oil
colours. Painters experience true colours without homogenized texture
or muddy colour mixtures. Use this colour chart as an approximation of the actual colour. If exact colour matching is necessary, use actual samples of the materials.
