Linseed Water Mixable Oil is the most widely used medium among all Artisan Water Mixable Oils. Artisan Linseed Oil reduces the viscosity and improves the flow of the paints while also increasing gloss and transparency. It can be mixed with water or Artisan Thinner to preserve the integrity of the paint film and is also suitable for layering to uphold the "fat over lean" rule (each successive layer must contain more oil than the previous one).

Artisan Water Mixable Oil Colour includes a specially developed range of oils, mediums, varnishes, and solvents, allowing all techniques used by traditional oil painters to be used with Artisan.

Artisan Linseed Oil reduces paint consistency, enhances flow, and increases gloss and transparency. It can be mixed with water or Artisan Thinner to preserve the structure of the paint film and is suitable for layered painting to follow the "fat over lean" rule (each successive layer must contain more oil than the previous one).

Artisan Oil Painting Mediums should not be used with traditional oil colours. As with conventional oils, it's always best to choose one medium and use it consistently throughout the painting.
