Gesso provides an absorbent surface that is ideal for painting. It is waterproof, lightfast, non-yellowing, and flexible. Demco gesso can be used with acrylics, oils, casein, gouache, pastels, charcoal, and pencils. It is easy to apply with a brush, paint roller, or palette knife on dry, porous surfaces.

It supports dry surfaces such as canvas, cotton, cardboard, plaster, concrete, and more. Use this gesso like most regular gessoes: apply the black gesso, allow it to dry, and sand between layers to achieve a smooth finish. Once dry, Demco Gesso Black remains semi-flexible and will not yellow over time.
