They are pressed from American flax seeds. This oil is as light and pure as linseed oil produced industrially can be. Use it sparingly to thin oil colours or as an ingredient in traditional painting mediums. Gamblin Refined Linseed Oil is a favourite oil medium among artists. It slows down the painting process and makes layering easier. Following the slow-over-fast rule, you subsequently add more of the slow medium to each layer you create afterwards.
