They are pressed from American flax seeds. This is as light and pure as industrially produced linseed oil can be made. Use in moderation to thin oil colours or as an ingredient in traditional painting mediums.

Gamblin Refined Linseed oil is one of the favourite artist oil mediums. It slows down painting time and allows you to paint in layers more easily; following the slow over the fast rule, you add more of the slow medium into each layer you subsequently create.
