Liquitex Pouring Effects Painting Medium creates smooth “puddles,” poured sheets, and flowing applications of colour. After it dries, it does not craze, crack, or trap bubbles in the paint film. Once dry, it maintains a high gloss and wet appearance. When mixed with colour, it does not add transparency. It is designed for maximum flexibility and adhesion and will not chip or crack on canvas.
Liquitex Texture Gels can be applied to any material or surface that will accept traditional acrylic media, such as canvas, paper, wood, etc. They are lightweight, non-toxic, and dry to a water-resistant, non-yellowing surface.
APPLICATION: Combine with Liquitex Soft Body Acrylic Colour to facilitate drying while achieving a smooth, uniformly coloured film. Mix one tablespoon or more of paint in a large bucket or bowl with one cup of Liquitex Pouring Medium. Use a palette knife to blend the colour and pouring medium by hand. To avoid bubbles, mix gently and let the mixture rest for 10 minutes after stirring. Pour the mixture into a squeeze bottle or preferred applicator with the help of a funnel.
The mixture can be poured directly onto the canvas, board supports, glass, or paper. Use a level surface. If not level, the results may be uneven, with very thin pieces that may tear. Pour evenly over the surface and allow it to dry for at least one day. If the paint film is thicker, allow up to two days.
