Slow-Dri Fluid Retarder is an additive with Liquitex Acrylics that extends drying time. It increases transparency when floating, shading, blending, and washing colours.

To eliminate drag and improve flow, use a Slow-Dri Fluid Retarder instead of water before loading the brush with paint.

It helps reduce paint skinning on the palette and is excellent for line work, transparent washes, and wet-on-wet techniques. It cleans up with soap and water.

It may be used with Liquitex Heavy Body Artist Colour and Heavy Body gel mediums; however, the thickness of paints and mediums will be reduced to a more fluid consistency.

Directions

Mix only up to 25% per volume of acrylic paint and acrylic mediums; otherwise, the paint may not be fully dry.

Application

Liquitex Paint Additives are similar to acrylic mediums in that they are mixed into acrylic paint and mediums to change consistency, thickness, transparency, sheen, drying time, and absorption rate. However, they are different because they do not contain acrylic polymer emulsion and, therefore, have no inherent binding qualities. Only limited quantities (usually up to 25%) of any additive can be added to the colour before harming the paint film.
