This additive should be used with Liquitex Heavy Body Artist Colour, Liquitex Heavy Body Mediums, and all other acrylic paints and mediums when working in low humidity or whenever increased workability and blending time are desired. Slow-Dri Fluid Retarder (excluding a heavy-body, thick consistency) and Slow-Dri Gel Retarder maintain brushstrokes. It adds body when mixed with lower-viscosity colours, Liquitex Soft Body Artist Colour, and Soft Body Mediums.

Note: Add up to 25% to the paint, as the absence of a binder may weaken the stability of the paint film if too much is added.

Application: Liquitex Paint Additives are similar to acrylic mediums as they mix into acrylic paint and mediums to modify consistency, thickness, transparency, sheen, drying time, and absorption rate. However, they differ since they do not contain acrylic polymer emulsion and lack inherent binding qualities. Only a limited amount (typically up to 25%) of any additive can be incorporated into the colour without damaging the paint film.
