Abstract painting is good for mental health; even though I like the meditative induced stimulus of realism, I enjoy the energetic vigour spurn by the conceptual art of exploring the various possibilities while benefiting from decompressing, clearing my mind and feeding my creative imagination. I like experimenting with different mediums to get the desired effect I have in mind. This is where I test the products and see where I can push the boundaries and expand their use. I find it liberating after a structured day of administrative duties, meeting deadlines, etc.

I used four kinds of mediums and two paint media in this painting to achieve the desired illusion of sand and water. The landscape, blue creates a relaxing, secure, safe zone. At the same time, the sand texture ground us to Mother Earth.

I chose the blue, turquoise colour of water in a landscape direction to lend a virtuoso concept of a vast expanse, giving the feel of depth and freedom and livening our senses. The smell and serenity of waves rippling on a warm, reddish gold, burnt orange, sandy beach draws us to the earth's elements associated with a seasonal circular pattern, bringing thoughts of the warmth solace gone by, a reminder of old man frost around the corner—the wind carrying us through the seasons, like the breath of life sequences.
