Watercolour Ground Titanium White - Blanc de Titane Pint

It used to be that watercolour painters had few options beyond white paper or a few coloured boards. Now you can turn almost any surface into a toned or black ground for watercolour painting, as well as collage, pastels, pencils and mixed media work.

Titanium White, as well as turning any surface into Watercolour Paper, allows you to rescue areas within a painting done on Watercolour paper! How many times do you get a andldquo;Do Overandrdquo;?

Itandrsquo;s so easy to apply Ground over an area within a painting that needs rescuing andndash; or for working on different compositional areas. You can also lift and scrub without damaging the painting surface.

Let your imagination soar with DANIEL SMITH Watercolour Grounds!

For too long, the beautiful medium of watercolour has been confined to a paper-behind-glass niche. Now, with these exciting Watercolour Grounds, anything you've dreamed of painting on with watercolour can become a reality.

Absorbent or semi-absorbent surfaces (such as paper, canvas, other fabrics, Wood, plaster, shells and hardboard) require no special prep before brushing on Daniel Smith watercolour grounds

  • Apply straight from container using a soft-haired synthetic brush for a smooth finish, or a hog bristle brush for a more textured finish, one coat will cover most surfaces.
  • Curing: to allow watercolour ground to attain the correct degree of absorption, let watercolour ground dry and cure for at least 24 hours
  • Because it creates a surface more absorbent than paper, Daniel Smith works best in conjunction with lower-water paints, such as watercolours and thinned acrylics.
  • Finishing: as with all watercolours, your work on Daniel Smith watercolour ground will need to be fixed if it will not be Framed behind glass
  • Golden Archival Aerosol MSA Varnish with UVLS is an excellent spray varnish that will protect your work on any surface. Use it at room temperature in a well-ventilated area.
