Watercolour Ground Titanium White Pint by DANIEL SMITH

Watercolour Ground Titanium White allows you to transform any surface into Watercolor Paper, helping to rescue areas within a painting created on Watercolour paper! Watercolour painters once had limited options beyond white paper or a few coloured boards. Now, you can convert nearly any surface into a toned or black ground suitable for watercolour painting, collage, pastels, pencils, and mixed media work.

It's very easy to apply Ground to an area of a painting that requires rescuing or to work on various compositional elements. You can also lift and scrub without harming the surface of the painting.WARNING: Cancer - www.P65Warnings.ca.gov

Let your imagination soar with DANIEL SMITH Watercolour Grounds!

Watercolour Titanium White Ground your colours on bright white no matter what colour the original surface is. This ground also acts like a “whiteout” to rescue a watercolour painting by covering mistakes or other unwanted areas and starting over. For best repair results, blend some ground in a small dish with up to 10% water and use a soft brush to blend the edges.

The beautiful watercolour medium has been confined to a paper-behind-glass niche for too long. Now, with these exciting Watercolour Grounds, anything you've dreamed of painting with watercolour can become a reality.

Absorbent or semi-absorbent surfaces (such as paper, canvas, other fabrics, Wood, plaster, shells and hardboard) require no special prep before brushing on Daniel Smith watercolour grounds.

  • Apply straight from the container using a soft-haired synthetic brush for a smooth finish or a hog bristle brush for a more textured finish. One coat will cover most surfaces.
  • Curing: to allow watercolour ground to attain the correct degree of absorption, let watercolour ground dry and cure for at least 24 hours
  • Because it creates a surface more absorbent than paper, Daniel Smith works best in conjunction with lower-water paints, such as watercolours and thinned acrylics.
  • Finishing: as with all watercolours, your work on Daniel Smith watercolour ground will need to be fixed if it will not be Framed behind glass
  • Golden Archival Aerosol MSA Varnish with UVLS is an excellent spray varnish that will protect your work on any surface. Use it at room temperature in a well-ventilated area.
