Winsor & Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oil Impasto Medium thickens Artisan Water Mixable Oil Paints, making it ideal for Impasto painting and texturing. It also accelerates drying time. Always mix the Impasto Medium thoroughly with the colours. For thick impastos, build up the texture in several stages, allowing each layer to dry before applying the next.

This medium is ideal for painters who prefer non-hazardous solvents. Artisan Water Mixable Oil Paint Mediums should not be mixed with traditional oil colours. As with conventional oils, it’s always best to choose one medium and use it consistently throughout your painting.

It is a semi-gloss, quick-drying, non-yellowing impasto medium that retains crisp textures and brush strokes without visible levelling. It extends tube colour and provides bulk. It also allows more blending time. When dry, it forms a flexible, tough film that can be varnished normally.

Liquin Impasto and Liquin Oleopasto are the only mediums that safely thicken water with a mixable oil colour. For heavier brushwork or palette knife.
