Winsor and Newton Drying Oils Mediums
Slightly yellow oil is extracted without the use of heat and dries somewhat quicker than refined linseed oil.
- Drying oils control colour, prevent over-thinning when mixed with solvents and help maintain the flexibility of the paint film.
- Bleached Linseed Oil improves the flow of oil colours. It is reliable and non-yellowing. Use it in pale colours and white.
- Cold Pressed Linseed Oil - Reduces consistency and brush marks. It also increases gloss, slows drying rates, and increases transparency.
- Drying Poppy Oil - A fast-drying, pale oil made from poppy seeds that is well suited for whites and pale colours. Reduces consistency, increases gloss, and transparency resists yellowing.
- Linseed Oil - Increases flow, transparency and gloss.
- Refined Linseed Oil - Increases flow, transparency and gloss. Slows drying.
- Safflower Oil - A slow-drying oil that improves the flow and is well suited for pale colours. It increases gloss and transparency and resists yellowing.
- Stand Oil Is a pale, thick oil. Mix it with turpentine or mineral spirits to improve the flow of oils. It has a flexible finish.
